In 2022, the United Baseball Ventures, LLC based in Bellmead, TX combined forces with Montgomery Sports Marketing Group in Las Vegas, NV and JCG Sports, Inc. to form the Alliance Sports Capital Group, LLC. The group began working on forming an independent professional baseball league, focused on advancing young talent onto the next level, while providing opportunities for former affiliated players to continue their careers.
In July of 2023, the United Alliance of Professional Baseball, LLC was formed naming Ken Wright the first commissioner. Throughout the rest of 2023 and 2024, the UAPB identified and scouted markets with a desire to host professional baseball, while also being able to sustain themselves as individual entities, rather than league owned. The UAPB also welcomed in a group of investors eager to own a professional baseball club.
Ken Wright, the UAPB commissioner, announced in December of 2023 that four teams had been established with private owners. In March of 2024, team name contests and team unveilings were made introducing the four inaugural teams to the United Alliance of Professional Baseball featuring the San Marcos Chilis, Waco RiverCats, El Paso Fury, and San Angelo Sabre Dogs. In May of 2024, the UAPB announced two more additional teams added to the 2025 inaugural season including the South Texas FireAnts and the Oklahoma PumpJacks.
In June of 2024, the UAPB announced partnerships with Barr Sports Management, LLC and American Sports Ventures, LLC. These partnerships allowed the UAPB to develop their own set of roster rules, classifications, and agreements with other independent professional baseball organizations. Later that same month, the UAPB signed a networking deal with TeamWork Online to help employ interns and full-time staff for the UAPB teams.
